Make small changes to create a big impact

Some of the problems we face today feel enormous. It’s easy to get stuck with the mindset that our actions are just a drop in the ocean. But research by C40, a major player in creating ambitious action in cities across the world, shows that even without government intervention we could reduce an area’s emissions by 27% through collaborative community action. Creating momentum locally can help set the pace to which we hold government and local authorities accountable.

We can’t solve climate change in isolation – If every resident in Surrey makes small and gradual changes, the collective impact could be huge.
Residents across the county are already taking action to future-proof their homes and reduce their environmental impact. From reducing the amount we buy, to retrofitting houses, there are so many ways for everyone to play their roles.

Small changes to how we live, work, and play do have the potential to make a huge difference. This will lead to a huge variety of benefits in the lives of so many across our county and beyond, including:
