Get a subsidised home energy plan

Surrey homeowners can access subsidised home energy assessments, as well as ongoing advice and support with the design and coordination of their home energy improvement projects.

This is the second phase of Surrey County Council’s ‘one stop shop’ service launched in 2024, and over 150 households have benefitted from this project, a partnership with home energy experts Furbnow. The new phase means even more homeowners can to take their first steps towards improved home energy performance.

Whether residents are interested in insulation, solar panels, a more efficient heating system like a heat pump (up to 6x more efficient than a gas boiler), or simply don’t know where to begin, a home energy assessment (the ‘Home Energy Plan’) from one of Furbnow’s fully-qualified assessors can help you align your home’s needs with your personal preferences and circumstances.

A Home Energy Plan is now 20% discounted (£360 down from £450) for eligible households thanks to Surrey CC’s limited subsidy offer.

If you’re not currently in a position to invest in your home, there are other options available to you. Support is available from the Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT), a free-of-charge advice service that includes a thermal imaging survey of your home, ‘quick win’ measures, energy debt support, and a referral to a Warm Homes Local Grant, which can provide up to £30,000 of free home energy improvements per eligible household.
