Free Business Resilience Course
Take advantage of a free course in 2026 to prepare your organisation for future risks.
Around 150 small and medium businesses have already completed the course, which has been running across Surrey for the last 3 years.
Participating in one of the courses can help SMEs – as well as schools and other organisations – to create an actionable plan with multiple benefits.
With the World Economic Forum’s 2026 Global Risk Report categorising the top 3 long-term risks to businesses as environment and climate related risks, this course provides a stepping stone to help you future-proof your business against some of these risks.
In this course, run by Surrey’s Sustainable Business Network, you’ll learn how to understand risks to your business, build an actionable and measurable plan to reduce emissions, (so that you can adapt to climate risks whilst playing a role in mitigating against the source of these risks), and hopefully save money through key actions that reduce your bills in the long term.
The benefits to your organisation include:
-
Ensure your business is prepared to cope with extreme weather impacts.
-
Be well positioned for tenders with large companies who report scope 3 emissions.
-
Be prepared for future legislation.
-
Save money and attract funding and grants through sustainability measures.
-
Attract and retain the best staff.
-
Get a free 1-year license to the Climate Essentials monitoring and reporting tool.
Alongside the practical steps that will help you to build resilience against future impacts, you’ll get 1 year free access to Climate Essentials. This is the reporting and monitoring tool used by Surrey County Council to monitor SCC vendor impact. It gives you a clear picture of your carbon hotspots and helps you create a reduction pathway, giving you an advantage in tenders with large businesses who must comply with carbon reporting frameworks.
Watch the video at the bottom of the page to see how other small businesses have benefitted from Climate Essentials.
