The Surrey Place Delivery Programme Impact Report 2025-26
Over 30,000 people have benefited from the Place Delivery Programme 2025–26, delivered through 75 resilience projects. While the programme focused on eleven key themes, each shared a common goal: supporting households and communities to become healthier, greener and more resilient.
As the most wooded county in the UK, Surrey is rich in green spaces that are valued and protected by community groups, schools, charities and residents. However, our natural environment is under increasing pressure. The 2017 State of Surrey’s Nature report found that 11.5% of species are locally extinct, with many more in decline due to poor habitat quality and fragmentation. At the same time, climate risks are intensifying; bringing unprecedented heatwaves and a growing threat of flooding. Surrey Fire and Rescue responded to its first wildfire as early as January in 2023, and projections suggest that 66% more homes in Surrey could be at risk of flooding by 2050.
Adapting to these challenges is essential to protect our communities, services, infrastructure, and natural environment. The Place Delivery Programme was designed to help communities prepare for this changing future.
